1 Teaspoon of Turmeric every day

Hey lovers I'm sharing with you this great article by Amy Goodrich about the benefits of drinking tumeric daily. You all know I'm a big fan of the spice as I've shared some recipes in previous newsletters, but this will help you understand the real benefits of just one teaspoon a day. A teaspoon of turmeric a day keeps inflammation, toxins, pain, and cancers at bay. In India, turmeric has been used and crowned the “Queen of all Spices” for over 2500 years. Although it was first used as a dye, over the centuries its true healing powers slowly came to light. Long known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and detoxing properties, recent studies reveal how this natural wonder can treat diseases...

In the name of breasts: Check your melons

One in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 90 percent of breast cancer can be fully cured if it's caught early enough. With this in mind, and for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, coffee brand Carte Noire joined forces with BETC and the Pink Ribbon Foundation to produce a super-cheeky ad encouraging women to get screened regularly. A smoothie a day...

Hey lovers... I don't know how you all feel about summer nearing it's end, but the thing I am most sad about is the huge selection of seasonal fruit which will not be available anymore. I generally try to only each fruit and vegetable which is in season, because it's healthier and also the only decision when you buy organic. One way which I've been enjoying my fruit is by making smoothies and juices. I don't really eat that much during the summer months because of the extreme heat in Cyprus, but one easy way to get my daily dose of fruit and vegetable is smoothies. You can take advantage of all that seasonal produce and stock up, freezing your favourites...

Aphrodite mural on the beach

"With this project we want to breathe new life in the form of Aphrodite into the the beautiful space she was once worshiped."   The Cypriot painter Katerina Wretch and Russian sculptor Arsenti Lisenkov who live in Kissonerga, created a large scale mural of the goddess out of pebbles on the beach in front of the Anassa Hotel,in Latchi , a portrait of Aphrodite Anassa (this is one of the many names that have gotten occasionally Venus Goddess ). Inspired by the Paphos Roman mosaics, which are created with natural stone, as well as the frescoes of Pompeii and especially a Greek portrait of Venus in Roman copy. See the process of making of this beautiful mural at this link.
